We all prefer nowadays to keep everything as simple as it
could be, then why not “Wedding”? We all know what are the traditions of a
wedding of today in the sub-continent. How dullard and costly they are
resulting in no such huge outcome. It has now become a status symbol and source
of spending money blindly.
`
Those who
do irrelevant and stupid on such a moment of felicity say that marriage comes
once in a lifetime (Hopefully :D) then why shouldn’t we do all such stuff? I
believe that there are many other things that happen in life for a single time
such as when we open our eyes in this world and close them. Do we celebrate
when we close? No, I mean it will be once in a lifetime we should celebrate it,
let’s dance, let’s party for the last time? No, why no now?
Secondly,
on the reception day, the dulhe-mian (Groom) and their relatives are dancing
and doing the bla bla stuff whereas the bride and her relatives are saddened by
the thought to live their rest of the life without each other when they have got
deep and unforgettable days and memories. I mean why do the dulhey waley
(Groom) do that? Have they discovered a treasure or what? Though they have
every right to be happy but getting happy by doing all this? They can actually
share their feelings with the bride’s family in a different way. But NO! “Dance,
fire-works wagera tou banta hai boss”. Common, use your senses, how will you
feel when you are afraid of losing your daughter and I (An unknown person) marry
your sister and take her away by celebrating it? Please give me an answer to
this question.
There
are many other things which couldn’t be mentioned in this blog but can be evacuated
from our culture by using a very little part of our brain. Disrespected traditions
have penetrated in our culture and society and we have applied them all. How
shameful will it be when a daughter is dancing in front of all the family members?
That is a very minor example of what is happening nowadays, I guess I have said
it enough. Follow with what you have been given instead of adopting it from
other cultures. Keep it simple silly ;) In the last I will like to put up a video I really love as I don't have a sister, you guys should watch it.
